Cyprus Transportation Guide
By Air
It is easier than ever getting to Cyprus. Cyprus Airways, Helios Airlines and Eurocypria are among the more than 33 airlines which operate scheduled flights to Larnaca International Airport and Paphos International Airport. Contact information of some airlines operating flights to Cyprus is listed below.
By sea
As the main seaport of Cyprus, a number of shipping lines from Greece, Israel and Italy all call into Limassol. The southern part of the town houses the new harbour. It can be reached either by taxi or the No. 1 bus, which connects it to the town centre. Limassol has bus services which connect it all over the island. Many of these shipping lines also stop at other major cities, such as Paphos and Larnaca.
Around Cyprus
To get around Cyprus, you could rent a car. To rent a car cheaply, you need to be over 21 years of age. If you are not too confident about driving here, and are mostly planning on staying in one town or city, it may be best to book cabs to get around. However, renting a car can be very handy way if you are planning on exploring the island in depth. One fact to know is that Cypriots drive on the left. This is due to the heavy British influence of the island. This is ideal for UK and Japanese drivers, but may be confusing for European of American drivers, especially as most of the rest of the Mediterranean drives on the right.Transportation Companies
