Things to See & Do in Cyprus
Limassol
Limassol’s rich and long history includes the city’s thriving winemaking industry. Even during the reign of Richard the Lionheart, when Cyprus was captured by the Crusaders, the city was well known among traders for its sugarcane and wine. Today, Limassol is the hub of the winemaking industry in Cyprus and, in fact, most of the grapes are grown in the fertile foothills of the Troodos Mountains. It is also well known as a centre of commerce and tourism.
Paphos
A charming little harbour town, on the west of the island, Paphos is the capital of the Cyprus' western region. The people here are warm, hospitable and really hearty souls! Every family continues to live by its ancient traditions and local culture. The food is plentiful and afternoons are a great time for a short siesta and a chat with the family. Just outside the city are the ancient Tombs of the Kings, a must visit in the area.
